Apple Crumble

Cooking Time: 50-60 Mins

Saucepan to make fruit tender, bowl to mix crumble and ovenproof dish

Oven Temperature: 350-375F (Gas Mark 4-5)

Cook in Centre of Oven

For 12 people use 3 lb of Apples, sugar to tates and a little water

To make the crumble use:

6oz of margerine or butter

12oz of plain or self-raising flour

9-12 oz sugar

Pinch of salt

  1. Prepare the Apples by peeling, washing and cutting into small pieces
  2. Simmer in small amount of water using saucepan, add sugar and cinnamon to taste
  3. Put the Apples into the dish
  4. Rub margerine or butter into the flour in the bowl
  5. Add pinch of salt
  6. Add Sugar and mix
  7. Press down Firmly
  8. Sprinkle top with some more sugar, as required
  9. Bake for 30-40 mins until crisp and golden brown


SERVE: Serve hot with custard, whipped cream or ice-cream
