Any Network Shortcuts keep disappearing from your Desktop
Microsoft in their wisdom decided to Enable A Cleanup Task as default on Windows 7 to delete Broken Links.
When this runs, if the Server or Network Drive is not visible the Shortcut is deleted.
To Disable this Task, do the following:-
- Start –> Programs –> Accessories –> System Tools –> Task Scheduler
- Expand the plus sign on Left Hand side to display Task Scheduler Library Microsoft Windows Diagnosis
- On the right hand pane, Right Click on “Scheduled” and Select “Disable”
- Now Close the Window
This should keep all broken links on your desktop
