Windows 7 – Software Evaluation
25 November 2011
At last another update, sorry it’s been a while
Yes Windows 7 is still working great and all customers who have purchased a pc with Windows 7 are very, very happy.
If you are thinking of buying or upgrading, go for Windows 7 Home Premium, unless you want to access the computer remotely then I would choose Windows 7 Professional
I have found a few glitches, one when connecting to NT Server but a patch is available (i’ll post the link here whan I get the chance)
Finding things in hidden folders can be a bit of a pain so I will list some here:-
Outlook Files (.pst) – Now moved into Documents folder
or %userprofile%\appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
or c:\users\username\appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

2 YEARS OF WINDOWS 7 and yes I am hooked
I stand by my comment of a year ago that “They seem to have taken the useful parts of XP and Vista combined them, made them work and then Optimized the performance”

Your staff will most likely use these on their home computer and can be very frustrated at work as you are still using old versions of Windows and Office Software.
The majority of leading businesses have now upgraded, which can cause problems for your staff when sending and receiving information and documents.
What are the advantages of upgrading to Windows 7?
Although more memory and hard disk are required to run Windows 7, the faster processing speed, smother Graphics and enhanced Backup/Restore and Account Security make it worthwhile upgrading.
What are the advantages of upgrading to Microsoft Office 2007/2010?
The main changes are the removal of the old Menu Bar and the Tools Options
These have now been replaced by the Menu Tabs and Ribbons
