Windows 7 includes a great feature
You can select individual files to browse and copy from a Windows 7 backup folder
Open Control Panel –> System and Security –> Administrative Tools –> Computer Management
Click on Disk Management
Wait for all drives to be shown
Now select the drive where you have backed up your windows 7 computer
(you may need to plug in this drive if it is an external USB drive)
Click Action (at the top) –> select ATTACH VHD
Browse to the Backup Folder and Select the VHD file, Click OK
You can now see the File is mounted as the next available letter as a drive on your computer as the Autoplay function displays
Browse the Drive and copy any files/folders you require
