Cooking Time: 50-60 Mins
Saucepan to make fruit tender, bowl to mix crumble and ovenproof dish
Oven Temperature: 350-375°F (Gas Mark 4-5)
Cook in Centre of Oven
For 12 people use 3 lb of Apples, sugar to tates and a little water
To make the crumble use:
6oz of margerine or butter
12oz of plain or self-raising flour
9-12 oz sugar
Pinch of salt
- Prepare the Apples by peeling, washing and cutting into small pieces
- Simmer in small amount of water using saucepan, add sugar and cinnamon to taste
- Put the Apples into the dish
- Rub margerine or butter into the flour in the bowl
- Add pinch of salt
- Add Sugar and mix
- Press down Firmly
- Sprinkle top with some more sugar, as required
- Bake for 30-40 mins until crisp and golden brown
SERVE: Serve hot with custard, whipped cream or ice-cream
