Outlook displays deleted messages with a line (strikethrough) in your folders until they are purged from your deleted items folder.
To hide these messages do the following:-
After Outlook 2003
Click View –> Current View –> Hide Messages Marked for Deletion from the menu
Outlook 2003 and previous versions of Outlook
Click View –> Arrange By –> Current View –> Hide Messages Marked for Deletion
